Matariki

Kia Ora, bloggers. Today I wold like to share when we celebrated Matariki. It was yesterday the 23 of July. We did the activities and we went in a rotation. There were 3 activities. The first one I did was to recreate a Matariki story (or make up our own story) with playdough and animating it with stop motion. We could either use playdough or draw our characters in the story. I worked with Jeremiah, Brayden, and Marcus. We made our own story but it didn't turn out good. We did this until morning tea, which was 11:00 - 11:30. After morning tea it was time for our 2nd activity - strip making. We had to make strips of Maori patterns with Maori colors (red, white, and black). Then we put them onto a kite frame to make a kite. I didn't really like it because it was boring just coloring in patterns. We did this until lunch which was 1:00 - 1:50. After lunch it was time for the 3rd and final (and my favorite) activity - cooking. First we washed our hands. We all divided into groups of 4 (but my group had 5 people). My group had Jeremiah, Brittany, Brayden, and Marcus. First we got a bowl and put self - raising flour in it. Then we mixed the flour and put water on it. Everyone had a turn mixing it. Then we put the dough out of the bowl and split it into 4 groups. After that we rolled the dough and after THAT we cut it into six pieces. Then we put it in the fryer to make it fried bread. After that took them out (carefully) we put toppings on top (I did golden syrup). And then we ate them. I really liked that last activity. Here are some photos.

I hope you have enjoyed reading this. You can say if there is anything I can improve (because there definitely is something I can improve) by commenting.
